Interesting thread. For all those who've gotten their hands dirty in the stock market, can you recommend any message boards that conducts healthy discussions for taking advantage of the volatility in the short term. I have looked at yahoo, aol, msn and google and most of them are non sensible discussions without much factual info.

Based on our experience, my husband's lawyer applied for I-140 premium processing and after it was approved we were able to file for an extension of 3 years since I-485 is still retrogressed and we got approved for that one as well.
My 6 yrs are getting over in Jan 2008.
1. Can I apply for H1 extension request for 3 yrs instead of EAD?
2. Or with EAD?

I did think about doing it this way, but it didn't feel the "right thing to do"...
I spoke to my lawyer on what to do , but I'm not getting a straight answer.
Do you guys recommend a lawyer that would be able to help?
I checked Murthy.com and she asks for $250/20min of consultation... Is she that good? Should I consider calling her?
I did consult Murthy....she is good and will give you better solution....few of my friends used her law firm and resolved few complex queries....I have heard from my friend she is very good at document preparartion for real complex problems...
My suggestion is, better go to her office if you are in tri-state area....if you use her service then she will waive $250 in legal fee....

It is not just IV. He does not give any other source where he is getting information. In IV some persons always try to find fault with others whether pro immigrants or Anti immigrants. IV is dealing with only very small part of immigration that is Green card for highly skilled persons. But other groups like AILA is trying to get benefit for all the section of immigration. Of course there is no surprise in seeing their welfare first before seeing others. Lawyers will give more importance to their profession than the common people

One of my friends had received strange letter from the consulate saying that
We are obliged to inform you that petition for temporary employment for xyz InfoTech .has been returned to the department of homeland security(DHS) for reconsideration, in your case you did not meet the necessary criteria of the visa category, we have asked DHS to revoke the petition.
With this letter we are returning your passport. no additional information or documents are required from you.
We will contact you once a final decision has been made on your application
Please advice me why they send this letter and what necessary action we need to take..

Hmmmm - laws are generally framed with generic thumb rules. They cannot be addressed to specific stuff. Visass and restrictions are based on needs and demands and not moods and whims. If USA needs software engineers, then they frame laws to get software engineers - they do not target consulting companies - remember it is we who have issues with consulting companies and it is upto those having issues to deal with them
But if they want CIR then we cannot be on anti immigant side. If we sit on anti side we loose what ever we will get in CIR. We can educate lawmakers to add more stuff for us in CIR. I dont think we can be priority when this CIR things will start.. we had only chance for last year that we lost. ( HR 5882 ). As CIR storm begins in next year it will be in our favor to go with it.. ( I dont tihnk so we even have choice ). we are in such minority against illegal people that hardly they will notice us but becasue of business ( Corporate ) only they will add some stuff for us. I heard recently on NPR ( and on CNN ) china is back on sending student again. US unis giving more visas to raise money from fees so NAFSA will also try to add some for US educated.

I am not sure whether to go for EB2 filing in PERM or wait one more year to file i485 (hope PD will reach 2003 september by next year october ). Even if i start EB2 perm now it's going to take at least one year to clear labor and i140 (if every thing smooth).
EB2 is unavailable rt now and will be severely backlogged due to cases coming from BEC. When eb3 got backlogged, several people filed quickly as eb2 in order to get eb2 benefit. However now that eb2 is unavailable it is tough to say if when it becomes available it will actually move fast at all. With BEC cases coming up, there is a chance it will be stalled at jan 2003 or earlier in order to allow old cases to be cleared. this will be enough for India quota be over.
EB3 is available rt now however the wait is very long and will move slow.
in this scenario, prioirity dates are most important than eb2 vs eb3. both are likely to be heavily backlogged anyways for india.
lets hope some immigration relief happens soon so that we dont live in such tension.

I have ALWAYS gone in T-shirt and Jeans and never had a problem. They dont really care about your appearance, although it is a good idea to dress decently.Go in a Halloween costume. Am just kidding, any decent looking dress would be fine..
