I'm so thrilled that this happened ... I actually expected this to happen ........ Not sure why they didnt simply make it U .... Hopefully will spur all the EB2 folks to do something rather than thinking that the problem is only for unfortunate EB3 filers :)

I got "the letter" too...
It is just a letter recognizing that there was a SR made etc...
There really is no substance to it. You should get your letter before 45 days of creating the SR. I got mine on the 45th day.
Once again, the letter says nothing. What should happen is that your FP appointment should be made during the 45 days after you create a SR. If it is not made, you get "the letter." After the letter, I was told to wait 60 days from when I received the letter to get FP appointment and if I didn't get them within those days to call back.
Last week I called USCIS regarding FP and Customer Representative told me that they have sent me a letter on 21st of Oct regarding SR I opened in the month of OCT (I haven't received that letter yet. Do not know where they sent it). I asked her about the content of the letter but she said she doesn't have that information and I have to wait till 19th Dec to open new SR. She suggested visiting local USCIS through Infopass. I have taken infopass appointment for this coming Friday. I will update you on Friday about the appointment.

You should be proud of what you are doing. Even if you dont do a great job, You should try your best and you should still believe that you are doing it to the best of your ability and no one can do it better. But the way you talk, you seem to be a big loser and one of those, who feel lucky to have got your H1B. Probably, USA wont lose anything when one some like you leave. But Dont talk for the folks here. If you think you are below average, thanks for accepting it. Anyway, we would have known that from your shameless post. Most of us here deserve it and are special and are destined for greater achievements.

I got all my receipts today (Mine and my wife receipts)...My case is
Received by J.Barrett at 10:25 AM at NSC, Case transferred to TSC on 08/05/2007 (Based on LUD). Notice Date is 09/04/2007.
My I-140 is from TSC. I know what I went through this whole 70 day process, but as the saying goes 'There is light at the end of the tunnel'.

Hello All..
Can anyone throw some light on why some cases have not been receipted so far and are pending for any action..No rejections, no receipts no cheques ..nothing..
I see guys already starting to discuss EAD and opening companise etc..
We are still waiting for the ACK fron USICS...
My case was received at NSC on 18Th July by R cook, whose name I havent seen in this frum...and no info so far..Called USICS and talked to 2nd level clerk but no receipted so far.. so they have no info..

Why do you care if they care about EB3 or not.. do you care? Seperate effort.. what will you do in that.. again a back bench behind the alias pushing others to do something, without donating or contributing. Who gave you even the right to write here and put your views when you cannot even can consider it trustworthy to donate 2 cents.

In my opinion, we need to have separate efforts for EB3 (now that EB3 I and EB3 ROW are in the same boat). If we have someone with leadership qualities and wants to use some social networking site for discussing EB3 issues and identifying approaches to solve the EB3 issues, there will be many EB3 folks willing to support the effort. Immivoice is just useless portal, it doesn't have open forums and the core folks here don't care for EB3. In fact, their lobbying efforts were behind USCIS changing the rule for spilling over the unused visa numbers to EB2 first. Just my 2 cents.

I absolutely agree with you. One of my cousin is unfortunately suffering in EB3 for years he is a MS and working for over 10 years, he has been trying to port to EB2...but his attorney flatly refused on grounds that the company doesn't need a advanced degree applicant for that position and they can't justify the same to USCIS and invite scrutiny especially in this economy.
Ofcourse porting is blessing for lawyers and it means greenbacks for them the more the better.

This thread was opened for working on Action Item. EB2-I community is giving all stupid reasons to divert us from our Action Item. Please stay focused and lets work on Action Items.
We already sent petition to support those three bills. What else shall we do now. We are running out of time and only few days left before Congress goes on recess (or whatever the term is). WE MUST ACT NOW.

I came on extension. I think they are more critical about the companies with whom you are working for. All my friends with extended their visa with no problems. I it is very hard to conclude on this. But scares every one if we keep saying they can not extend their visa.
Be prepared with good documentation and you should be fine.
Following is an e-mail I received from a person on L-1 with IBM.
Adding to my conversation with you, its unfortunate that my L1 extension has just got denied this week. I was going to leave this company anyways but this makes the COS difficult. My case took unusually long and now finally i have the denial notice as per USCIS website. My company has not yet received the papers, but once they do i may have to go back to India for converting my status. I think cannot go to Mexico or Canada as my I-94 has expired.
In the meantime i am following a lead i have for a project in Atlanta. Nothing sure but i will let you know if it culminates to something.
I was also informed that there is a new rule in place which does not allow people to go to Mexico or Canada for H1 stamping if they have entered US on a different visa . People are being sent back to home country for stamping.
What do you suggest i do? Shall i get H4 stamped in India or shall i go for H1 stamping. I will still have at least a month's grace period and if things don't work out after i come back, i will then convert to H4 then.

My employer filed my wife's and my EAD paper based application on Jul 25, 2008 (TSC Received Date). But I still haven't received the Receipt notices for the same.
Generally how long does take to get the receipt notices?
Please let me know if any has filed around same date and received the receipts?

I am seeing that reedandbamboo is considering for EB2 only. We have to include EB3 too for law-suit. I beleive that we will have more than 1000 people if we inlcude all categories.
I will give 200$( 100$ for me and 100 $ for my wife)
Ofcourse all categories are included...EB2/EB3, I/C/ROW...anyone who is unhappy with USCIS random processing and retrogression of the dates is welcome to join the fight.
Whoever thinks they are in: please send ur Name, Ph# and email ID to GCSTATUS or me.
We are not collectiong money yet..just a pledge. As soon as we hit the required # of pledges, then we start the money collection. This will ensure that it is not one those efforts that starts, but gets buried due to people not participating. If we do not have enough people interested to fund a lawsuit...we don't move forward....simple !!! The helpless situation we have been put into...has to be backed by numbers.
